Author Alert!
Would you like to be near the top of the wait list for your favorite author's
new book ...
Even if you didn't know it was being published yet?
If you tend to read all of the books by a certain author or authors, and
want to be placed on the hold list whenever a new title by that author comes
out, this service is for you!
How It Works:
- You fill out an Author Alert form
indicating your favorite authors, along with your name, your library card
number, and where you would like to pick up your books.
- By doing so, you are authorizing the Adult Services staff to place your
name on the hold list for any new titles that your selected authors write.
- Each time one of the "alert" authors publishes a new work, the
AdultServices staff will enter holds for all of the patrons who put that
author on their Author Alert form.
- This group of holds will be placed before holds are entered for anyone
else; within this group, the holds will be placed in a random order.
- You will always have the chance of having the
very first hold on a title, but you are not
guaranteed the number one slot.
- At any time, you may change the authors whose books you have selected
to reserve, or remove your name from all "alert" lists.
- The authors you choose may be writers of fiction, non-fiction, or both!
